Michael Falk's Biography
Michael FalkMichael was born in Fond du Lac, WI. For a few years he lived in a rural area near Allenton while his father attempted dairy farming. It was just a mile from his maternal grandparent’s farm. When Michael was five the family moved to Milwaukee so his father could get a factory job. He attended Bethesda Lutheran School. His mother, who had graduated from DMLC, soon received a call there to teach lower grades. Michael started high school at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. After his mother accepted a call to St. John's, a one-room school near Fremont, WI, Michael attended Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton for three years. It was a 27-mile ride to school each day. Michael went on to attend DMLC and graduated in 1972. He and Vicky, who had finished three years at DMLC, were married on June 17 that spring. They spent part of their honeymoon choosing textbooks for the new school in Sheboygan, WI.

Vicky, who taught for nine years at St. Bartholomew, was his afternoon Release-Time teacher three days a week. After she went to heaven in December of 2016 due to a cancerous brain tumor, our daughter Amanda Perkins filled in that position. Vicky and Mike have six children who are rather scattered around. Jennifer is a homemaker in Grafton, WI; Michael II is a sergeant(E7) in the army in Springfield, VA; Jason is a chef in Midland; Joshua is a computer technician for a corporate travel agency in Phoenix; Jessica works at a payroll company, runs the after-school program, and help teaqches in preschool at Our Redeemer Lutheran School in Madison, WI, where her husband is principal; and Amanda teaches voice and piano at Herters Music and here at St. John's, as well as teaches in the Release-Time position. Vicky and Mike have nine grandchildren. Vicky developed a brain tumor in August, 2015 which turned out to be cancer of an aggressive nature. The Lord took her to live in heaven four months later. Michael’s hobbies include camping, bicycling, homebrewing, geocaching, jogging, and visiting his children.
